Hosepipe Ban – Watering Cultivation on Allotment Sites

Dear Plot Holders,

We have been informed that a hosepipe ban (Temporary Use Ban) has been introduced due to prolonged dry weather and low reservoir levels in our region.

We are aware that Southern Water allows the use of hosepipes on allotment sites, and we also recognise that some tenants are unable to carry watering cans due to mobility or health reasons.

Our request is simply for all plot holders to be considerate in their water use during this period and, where possible, to use a watering can in place of a hosepipe. This approach allows us to balance the needs of all plot holders while supporting the water conservation message being promoted by Southern Water.
