NOTICE OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF TOWN COUNCILLOR

PARISH OF EASTLEIGH TOWN COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

Pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 and Rules 5(1) to 5(6) the Local Elections (Parish and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006.

That due to resignation Shere Sattar, a vacancy has arisen in the office of Councillor for Eastleigh Town Council (Cable) Ward.

If by 14 days (excluding Dies Non) after the date of this notice, in accordance with Rule 5 of the Local Elections (Parishes Communities) (England and Wales) Rules 2006, a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Proper Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said ward, then an election will be held to fill the said vacancy within sixty days (excluding Dies Non) from the date of the publication of that notice.

If no such request is made, the vacancy can be filled through cooption by the Town Council.
